Large Glass Memorial Plaque with a Floral Composition
The main glass memorial plaque features a large portrait of the deceased, surrounded by a subtle floral composition and complemented by personal details. It forms the central element of the memorial and can completely replace a traditional stone headstone, giving the monument an individual and elegant character.
Made from ultra-clear OptiWhite tempered glass, the plaque offers exceptional transparency and excellent legibility of the photograph, inscriptions, and decorative details. Each design is prepared individually based on the photograph provided, with careful attention to faithfully recreating the portrait, harmoniously arranging the floral composition, and presenting the personal details appropriately.
The Process of Creating Your Memorial Plaque
Ordering a glass memorial plaque is simple and straightforward. Together with your monumental mason, you should determine the appropriate dimensions of the plaque, allowing additional space for safely fitting the glass into the base of the memorial.
Next, you select the portrait version — black and white or colour — provide the personal details to be included on the plaque, and send us several photographs in the best possible quality.
We can also incorporate religious symbols and other individually selected decorative elements into the design. Based on the materials provided, we choose the most suitable photograph and carry out any necessary graphic corrections and retouching to prepare it for printing.
The completed design is then sent to you for approval. Once it has been approved, we begin producing the glass plaque and arrange delivery to the monumental mason of your choice.
Based on the agreed dimensions, we prepare an individual quotation, which may be included in the total cost of the memorial.
How to Choose a Photo for Your Memorial Plaque
Please make sure that the photographs you send are clear, well lit, and taken from a relatively short distance. Images showing the person from the waist or chest upwards usually produce the best results.
We recommend sending several photographs, as this allows us to select the most suitable image for the design. If the photographs are of lower quality, we can digitally retouch or reconstruct them while preserving a natural, realistic, and dignified appearance.
Frequently Asked Questions – Good to Know
How long does it take to complete the plaque?
The total production time for a glass memorial plaque is usually between 4 and 5 weeks. The exact timeframe depends on the time required to prepare and approve the design, manufacture the plaque, and arrange delivery to the monumental mason of your choice.
How is the plaque attached to the memorial?
A large glass plaque with a total thickness of at least 20 mm is typically fitted into the lower base prepared by the monumental mason. The recommended installation depth is at least 10 cm.
Depending on the construction of the memorial and the technical solutions used, the monumental mason may apply a different, individually selected installation method.
What size plaque can I choose?
The smallest available format is 21 × 30 cm. The maximum size can be 100 × 150 cm or larger. However, for a large plaque replacing a traditional stone headstone, we recommend choosing a format between 50 × 60 cm and 60 × 100 cm.
The final dimensions depend on the memorial design prepared by the monumental mason. Each format is agreed individually and included in the quotation.
Does the plaque have to include personal details?
No. All design elements, including the name of the deceased, dates of birth and death, an epitaph, or religious symbols, are agreed individually.
They may be placed directly on the glass plaque or elsewhere on the stone elements of the memorial, either as engravings or applied metal letters.
What printing technology do we use?
All plaques are produced using ceramic printing technology. During the production process, the pigment is fired at a high temperature and permanently fused into the surface of the glass.
As a result, the image, portrait, and inscriptions are highly resistant to changing weather conditions, UV radiation, and mechanical damage.
Will the plaque be sent by courier?
Smaller formats are shipped by standard courier using appropriately secured transport packaging, including our returnable packaging system.
For larger formats, we use a dedicated logistics company that provides suitable protection and safe transport of the plaque to the monumental mason of your choice.
The delivery cost depends on the dimensions of the plaque, the recipient’s location, and the individual quotation provided by the logistics company. It is invoiced separately.
Can we produce a plaque in an irregular shape?
Yes. Based on a technical drawing provided by you, we can produce a plaque in an irregular shape, for example with an arch, a rounded edge, or another individually designed finish.
Solutions of this type are always agreed in cooperation with the monumental mason and included in the individual quotation.
Where Are Memorial Plaques Used?
Memorial plaques with a photo are most commonly used on single and
double memorials, as well as on cremation memorials — either as the main
plaque or as an additional commemorative plaque placed on a granite
cushion or stand.
