Transparent glass heart – a headstone decoration made by hand from transparent kiln-fused glass, in navy blue. The glass is about 15 mm thick and lets light through, and the heart is set into a window cut in the stone tablet.

Kiln-fused glass
The glass is fired in a kiln until it fuses into a single body, which gives each piece its shape, its thickness and a pattern of its own.
Colour in the glass
The heart is one piece of coloured glass, with no pattern painted underneath.
Transparent glass
The coloured glass lets light through – set into a window cut right through the tablet, it glows with colour.
Set into the tablet
The heart is set into a window cut right through the stone tablet of the headstone.

The navy blue transparent glass heart for a headstone is a one-piece memorial decoration. The steel-blue navy shade is calm and suits grey and black granite. The heart is made by hand from kiln-fused glass and is designed to be set into a window cut in the stone tablet, so that light passes through the glass.
Product description
The heart is about 15 mm thick. Each one is made by hand in our workshop from kiln-fused glass, so the pattern of the glass differs slightly from piece to piece. The glass is transparent, which is why the heart is set into a window cut right through the stone tablet — light then passes through the glass and brings out its colour.
The heart comes in one version and 4 sizes, from 15 × 13 to 30 × 26,5 cm. In some cases we can make it in other, bespoke dimensions to suit a particular stonemason’s workshop.

How long does it take to make a heart?
A glass heart for a headstone usually takes three to six weeks to make, depending on the format and on how much work the glass needs.
Is the heart transparent?
