Black and white memorial plaque with a portrait among eucalyptus sprigs
This glass memorial plaque is black and white throughout. We make the portrait to order from the photograph you send us of the man who has died; the gallery images show an example arrangement only. Eucalyptus sprigs with round leaves rise on either side of the portrait and meet beneath it in a soft arc — a quieter, more contemporary motif than a classical wreath. Below the arrangement we set the inscription, the name and the dates exactly as you give them to us. This design carries no cross; if you want one on the plaque, we add it at the design stage. A memorial plaque made from tempered glass is an elegant and lasting way to commemorate someone who has died. As a memorial portrait, the plaque can be produced in a large format as the main plaque bonded to the stone panel of the headstone, or in a smaller form – as a nameplate or memorial photo forming one of the decorative elements of the grave.
How ordering a memorial plaque works
Ordering a glass memorial plaque is simple and straightforward. You can choose any design you like and then ask the stonemason working on the headstone to include it in the headstone design and in its quotation.
Your stonemason will advise you on the right size of plaque, the orientation of the panel, the method of fixing, and where the personal details should go — on the glass plaque itself, or done traditionally on the stone panel.
Based on the agreed dimensions and the stonemason’s input we will prepare an individual quotation, which will be included in the total cost of the headstone.
All you need to do is:

email us 3–5 good-quality photographs of the person who has died.
We will prepare the plaque design from them.
Once the design work is finished we send you a visualisation for approval; after you approve it we start production and ship the plaque to the stonemason you specify.
How do I choose a photograph for a memorial plaque?
Please send photographs that are sharp and taken from a short distance. Pictures showing the person from the waist up work best.
We recommend sending several photographs, so that we can choose the most suitable one. If there are problems with the quality of the photographs, we can retouch or reconstruct them digitally, keeping the portrait natural and dignified.

How long does a plaque take to make?
The full lead time for a glass memorial plaque is usually 3 to 6 weeks, and depends on the time needed for the design, production and delivery.
Do the personal details have to be on the plaque?
No. All elements — the details of the person who has died, dates or religious symbols — are agreed individually for each design. They can go on the glass plaque, or directly on the headstone — engraved, or in applied metal lettering.
What size can I choose?
The smallest available format is 20 × 30 cm. The largest can be 150 × 200 cm or more, although the final limit depends on the quality of the photographs we receive for the design.
What type of printing do you use?
All our work is produced with ceramic (kiln-fired) printing: the pigment is fired at high temperature and permanently fused into the structure of the glass. This makes the image highly resistant to weather, UV radiation and mechanical damage.
We print only on ultra-white tempered glass, which gives high clarity and neutral colour rendering.
How is the plaque fixed to the headstone?
The method of fixing depends on the headstone design. The plaque can be:
bonded with a suitable adhesive,
mechanically fixed with dowel pins,
set into horizontal or vertical plinths.
Whatever the fixing method, use materials that absorb the stresses caused by low temperatures — flexible tapes and adhesives, or suitable gaskets at the dowel pins and plinths.
Can you make a plaque in an irregular shape?
Yes. From a technical drawing you supply we can make a plaque in an irregular shape, for example with an arch or a rounded side, so that it fits the shape of the headstone.

The service is for funeral homes, stonemasons and private individuals who need a photograph improved quickly — in time to have it printed by a local photographer for the ceremony, or prepared for use on a headstone.
We also restore photographs in very poor condition — we remove paper texture, grain and yellowing, bring back sharpness in the face and hair, and crop the frame to the format you choose. We hand over the print-ready file as a link you download to your computer.
