Product description
The strip is made of a single layer of coloured, transparent glass 8 mm thick. It has no painted pattern and no second pane, so it lets light through and its colour changes with the time of day.
The standard strip is 10 cm wide and 90 cm tall, so it runs the full height of the stone tablet. We also make it in other dimensions: from 5 to 40 cm wide and up to 170 cm tall.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a glass strip for a headstone take to make?
A glass strip for a headstone usually takes three to six weeks to make, depending on the format and on how much work the glass needs.
Is the strip transparent?
Yes. The strip is made of a single layer of coloured glass and lets light through. Set into an opening cut in the stone tablet, it glows with colour along its whole height.
Will the piece be sent by courier?
Yes. We send strips by courier in a purpose-made foam container that protects even the large formats from damage.
How is the transparent strip mounted on the headstone?
The stonemason chooses how it is mounted. The strip can be:
set into a milled opening in the stone tablet,
set into the plinth of the memorial, or
bonded into a milled channel.
Whichever method you choose, use materials that absorb the stresses that build up at low temperatures, such as flexible adhesives.
Can you make the decoration in another shape?
Yes. From a technical drawing you send us we can make a circle, a cross, a decorative heart or any other shape.
Work like this is prepared together with the memorial mason and is quoted individually every time.
Do you need a strip in another size?
We make the transparent strip to the dimensions given by the memorial mason: from 5 to 40 cm wide and up to 170 cm tall. From a technical drawing we can also prepare a heart, a cross or a circle in the same glass; work like this is quoted individually. Get in touch with us.
We also prepare quotes for non-standard work by e-mail: biuro@deseomemorials.com

Our other products
As well as glass panels for headstones and memorials, we also make personalised memorial plaques, full size and small, which can be fixed to the face of the headstone or to granite pillow memorials. They can serve as the main plaque for the person who has died or as an additional memorial plaque, mounted on a granite pillow or on a purpose-made stand.
